Here is my reasoning for John H. & Sarah E. (Miller) Grimes as parents for Roy. In the 1900 census Roy's mother's
name is unreadable but she is listed as being born in August 1847 and widowed. Sarah E. Miller is listed as born
August 13, 1847. Roy is listed in the Social Security Death Index and on FindAGrave.com as having been born in
Vermilion County, Illinois in 1881. John H. Grimes and Sarah E. Miller were married in Vermilion County, Illinois in
1867. Again, Roy's mother is widowed by 1900. John H. Grimes died March 2, 1889 and is buried in Woodlawn
Cemetery in Indianola, Vermilion County, Illinois as is Sarah E. Grimes his wife who died September 29, 1924.
